Mapping Oakland’s “Long Lost” History – 6:30-8:00pm
Join us for a look at a new historical map developed by Liam O’Donoghue of the “East Bay Yesterday” podcast. “Long Lost Oakland” features some of the most impressive features of the local landscape that no longer exist – from stunning architecture to bygone infrastructure and even extinct plants and animals. As we live through a moment when we can look around and literally watch the landscape change before our eyes, this map highlights the many transformations Oakland has already experienced. This presentation will blend art and history in order to explore how our past connects to the world we live in today and the future we may be living in soon.
