Summer library programming is heavy on things for kids to do while they’re out of school (see our weekly posts or the comprehensive list for all branches here), but there are a couple of good programs for adults on the calendar, too.
Saturdays July 14 and 21 from 10:00am-2:30pm, AARP is offering a free Smart Driver Course to help drivers age 50 and up learn how to stay safe behind the wheel.
And Tuesday, August 28 at 6:30pm, Liam O’Donoghue of the “East Bay Yesterday” podcast will be sharing his “Long Lost Oakland” map, which features some of the most impressive features of the local landscape that no longer exist — from stunning architecture to bygone infrastructure and even extinct plants and animals. O’Donoghue shows us how our city has transformed over the years and is connected to the current scene today.
Stay tuned for more author events/adult programs in the fall!
