Julia Child would have been 100 years old last Wednesday, 8/15. Even if you’re not up to whipping up Beef Bourguignon in her honor (or, in my case, even pronouncing “Beef Bourguignon,” although Julia would have said “Be fearless“), how about reading a book about her very interesting life? (World travel! Spies! Television! Tarte Tatin!) Here are a few of the options in the Montclair collection:
For kids:
- Minette’s Feast: The Delicious Story of Julia Child and Her Cat by Susanna Reich
- Bon Appetit! The Delicious Life of Julia Child by Jessie Hartland (coming soon)
For adults:
- Mastering the Art of French Cooking by Simone Beck, Louisette Bertholle, Julia Child
- My Life in France by Julia Child with Alex Prud’homme
- A Covert Affair: The Adventures of Julia Child and Paul Child in the OSS by Jennet Conant
- Dearie: The Remarkable Life of Julia Child by Bob Spitz
- Julie & Julia by Julie Powell (the book)
- Julie & Julia (the movie)
Bon appetit!
