This item isn’t directly related to the Montclair library, but it’s of interest to book and library lovers. Authors Tom Corwin and Peter Laufer have purchased a classic bookmobile with plans to drive it across country. At stops along the way, the public will be invited in to choose a book in exchange for interviews about books that have changed their lives, and the project will be turned into a documentary film. The project launched this month at the American Library Association conference in Chicago. Authors with Bay Area connections are well-represented, including Robert Mailer Anderson, Tamim Ansary, Ethan Canin, Michael Chabon, Peter Coyote, Dave Eggers, Andrew Sean Greer, Daniel Handler, Paul Hawken, Annie Lamott, Armistead Maupin, Christopher Moore, Don Novello, Michael Pollan, Amy Tan, Vendela Vida and Ayelet Waldman — many of whom will actually be taking a turn behind the wheel.

Why not celebrate by stopping into the library this summer to pick up a book by one of these authors, or re-read a book that changed your life. Or email us your story of a book that changed your life at fomlibrary@gmail.com, and we may feature it in a future blog post.
